This policy explains data use on the Voceano website and newsletter. You can read without subscribing.
Who handles your data
Voceano is a project by Sol Garcia, the data controller. Contact: [email protected]. Website: https://voceano.com.
Data and purposes
For the newsletter we use your email, subscription status, signup date and source, delivery records, unsubscribe records and preferences. They let us send the welcome email and letters you request, manage delivery errors and honour unsubscribes. If you write to us, we process your message and contact details to reply. Hosting processes connection requests, including IP addresses, to serve and protect the website.
Legal basis
Newsletter delivery relies on your consent, expressed by submitting the newsletter signup form or sending an explicit subscription request by email. Double opt-in is not required. You can withdraw consent through the unsubscribe link in every email. The beehiiv form loads directly when you visit the page; accepting cookies is not a condition of subscribing. GDPR Article 6(1)(c) covers rights and legal obligations. Proportionate security and operational records rely on the legitimate interest in protecting the service.
Newsletter provider
We use beehiiv Inc. for signup management and delivery. Its trust centre states that publication and subscriber data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. Its processing agreement covers operations on our behalf and safeguards for applicable international transfers. Its privacy policy also describes the provider’s own security and service-operation processing.
Delivery information, opens and clicks
beehiiv provides delivery, bounce and unsubscribe statistics and may record opens using a tracking image and clicks using tracking links. These features may provide technical device information, dates, IP addresses and approximate location. Mail-client privacy protections may automatically load images or links, making these metrics different from actual reading. We do not claim that provider measurement is disabled. You can block automatic image loading in your email application and unsubscribe at any time; blocking images alone does not prevent click measurement. Contact [email protected] to ask about your subscription data or exercise your rights.
Hosting, correspondence and recipients
The website hosting service distributes files and processes connection requests to serve and protect them. Replies and enquiries to [email protected] are received through Google Workspace in the controller’s inbox. Data is accessible to people managing Voceano, providers needed for each service and authorities where legally required. Voceano does not sell your email or use the form to subscribe you to third-party publications.
International transfers
Providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. beehiiv states that it hosts data in the United States. Our providers’ contracts set out processing conditions and, where relevant, mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses or other applicable safeguards. You can request information about safeguards for your data at [email protected].
Retention
Your email is used for delivery while your subscription is active. After unsubscribing, a minimal suppression record may be retained to prevent further sends, along with information needed to demonstrate your request or address liabilities for applicable legal periods. Correspondence is kept as needed to address your enquiry. Unnecessary data is deleted or anonymised; providers’ backups and technical logs follow their retention cycles.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability where applicable at [email protected]. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. Any necessary identity check is proportionate. We normally respond within one month and explain legally permitted extensions. You can complain to the competent data protection authority, including that of your habitual EEA residence.
Automated decisions and changes
Voceano does not use this form to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. We will update this information if our purposes or features change and request a fresh choice where needed. The date identifies this policy version.
